Avenue Duo Sets the Mood at West

Posted on July 23, 2012

As guests took their seats on Friday at West, a delectable restaurant in Oklahoma City’s Nichols Hills, Avenue Duo strapped on their acoustic guitars, prepared to provide West’s patrons with some delightful musical accompaniment.

The duo played songs that covered a wide range of musical eras and styles, from The Wallflowers’ “One Headlight” to “She’s so High” by Tal Bachman to George Michael’s “Faith” to The Fray’s “Over my Head.” They even played something for the youngest ones present with Selena Gomez’s “Love you like a Love Song.”

Although it was just the duo that played at West, Avenue usually comes with a few more pieces and ditches the acoustics for electric guitars, playing some more up-tempo music that gets the crowd moving. When the full band comes out, they can be seen covering such artists as U2, INXS, Maroon 5, Michael Jackson, Britney, Depeche Mode, Gavin DeGraw, Paula Abdul, The Killers, Rihanna, and Prince.

Between their sets, the members of Avenue Duo took some time to meet and greet a few of the interns here at Box Talent who were enjoying the show.

You can catch Avenue playing all across Oklahoma City. Upcoming shows include July 28th at Dan O’Briens, August 2nd at Baker Street OKC, and August 3rd at Tapwerks. You should really catch one of their shows. You will not be disappointed!
