Cowboys OKC Hosting Live Bands: Lower 40
Box Talent Agency is excited to be a part of the new live music series at Cowboys OKC! Hosted on Thursday nights, the country dance hall is now booking local bands that play Country, Red Dirt, and Southern Rock music. Last night I had the pleasure of seeing another show by one of the city’s hottest young bands, Lower 40.
With a large following and high energy show, these guys are just getting started. Lead singer Kyle Earhart’s career began at a very young age and his experience is evident in every performance. The band thrives off each other’s energy, and combines their unique style and many influences into today’s modern country sound.
In collaboration with Land Run Records, Lower 40 was formed by students of the University of Central Oklahoma’s Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) program based in Bricktown. It is the only "School of Rock" in the country and is helping many students launch careers in the industry. Lower 40 may be young, but they have already been named “Who’s New To Watch In 2012” by Country Music Association. They're touring and will be releasing their debut album in 2012.
Last night’s performance featured a mix of their original songs and well-known country hits that had the whole place rocking. With many friends in the audience, they put on a very fun show and had the country girls loving every second of it. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter, and see them now before they make it big!
Make sure to go support your local musicians! Dance to some great live music and enjoy $1 Longnecks and Rattlesnakes at Cowboys on Thursday nights. Next week it’s Steve Brack & Stage Co. followed by Jack Rowdy on April 12. For more information on the series or booking, visit cowboysokc.com or contact your agent today!
