The 100th anniversary at the Skirvin hotel

Posted on October 24, 2011

Thursday night at the Skirvin hotel was a success! Our go-go dancers danced the night away and kept everyone on their toes. It was a groovy night with plenty of food, dancing, and elaborate outfits!

The Skirvin had a week long celebration in honor of their centennial. The festivities kicked off Sunday morning with a brunch at Park Avenue Grill with music provided by the one and only OKC Philharmonic String Quartet. Monday commemorated "The early years" of the hotel when it was first started. As we move along in time Tuesday spotlighted the "Roaring Twenties".The Tea dance was a 2o's and 30's themed party in the Skirvin Ballroom that night. Wednesday night featured the days of the Skirvin hotel during the 50's. The Rat Pack came out during dinner when Wade Tower performed classic songs by Sinatra and the gang.Thursday night was the grooviest of all nights. People put on their platform shoes and boogied to songs of the 70's provided by DJ Disco. A few of our interns were fortunate enough to attend this party and they had a blast! The Grand Finale was Friday night. The Skirvin Centennial Gala was a black tie affair that was classy and very fun! The whole week was a blast and we were very happy to be involved.Kym_and_Rebecca_Skirvin.jpg
