Zak Maloy Makes Oklahoma Proud

Posted on August 25, 2011

Hit songwriter and one-time frontman of post-grunge rockers the Nixons, Zac Maloy recently wrote "Get Some" and Oklahoma's own Blake Shelton put it on his record, "Red River Blue." It's always nice to see two Oklahoma boys working together. Zak Maloy and Box Talent have a long history with their work during "The Nixons."

He also wrote his first No. 1 song with “Temporary Home,” recorded and co-written by Carrie Underwood. The single, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart on April 10, 2010, marks Maloy’s successful expansion into the country format from his previous extensive work in the pop/rock genre. He’s also had songs recorded by artists including David Cook, DAUGHTRY, Plain White T’s, Jason Castro and Bowling for Soup, among many others.
