Artist Information

Ashton began performing professionally in the mid 90’s, performing in bands, duos, and as a solo acoustic performer. He has played in many of Oklahoma City’s popular live music venues, arts festivals, and benefit concerts.  He also created and hosted one of OKC’s most popular Open Mic nights that were held monthly at The Paramount Room on Old Film Row in downtown Oklahoma City.

In 2021, Ashton teamed up with J.R. Richards, former lead singer of the 90’s Alternative Rock band Dishwalla, to produce his 5 song EP ‘The War Within’ that was officially released in August that same year. Richards had this to say about working with Ashton – “Working with Ashton has been an absolute joy! A fantastic voice and great creative instincts made my job easy.. so be ready for a great album experience.” – J.R. Richards

Fusing his musical influences from 90’s Alternative Rock bands like Toad the Wet Sprocket, Gin Blossoms, Dishwalla, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters with 70’s Singer Songwriter artists such as America, Dan Fogelberg, and James Taylor, Ashton’s original music echoes these influences and allows him to explore a vast range of musical styles and sonic possibilities.

His song list is made up of many of his 90’s influences but, he also incorporates many great artists throughout many decades of music. Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Crowded House, Tears For Fears, Imagine Dragons, Goo Goo Dolls, The Cure, Jeff Buckley, and anything he feels like trying in the moment. His laid back sense of humor and connection with his audience make his solo acoustic shows more intimate and enjoyable for listeners and venue owners alike.
