Bread and Butter
We have a set list that can cover up to a 5 hour time slot playing the musical genres of Bluegrass, Folk, Country, Gypsy Jazz, Western Swing, Irish/Celtic, and traditional Americana music. Artist ranging from Hank Williams Sr., Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, John Prine, and Garth Brooks to Mumford and Sons, The Avett Brothers, and Old Crown Medicine Show. Bread and Butter Band is made up of a core group of 5 musicians: guitar/vocals, banjo/vocals, upright bass/vocals, lead guitar/vocals, violin/vocals and has a cast of supporting musicians which can range from mandolin, dorbo, saxophone, and drums depending on what the gig calls for and what the client is interested in. Some of the Mumford and Sons songs in our repertoire include but are not limited to “I Will Wait” “Little Lion Man” “The Cave” “Roll Away Your Stone” and are willing to learn an array of other songs upon the clients request. We are all accomplished and schooled musicians. David Bruster, lead vocals, is a three time Oklahoma Opry Entertainer of the Year winner and was an Oklahoma Opry Hall of Fame inductee at the age of 17. Greg Northwood, upright bass, studied flamenco and classical music and guitar at the University of Santa Fe New Mexico as well as a five year stint in Spain. Gabriel Mor, lead guitar, studied music at the University of Colorado and the Academy of Contemporary Music in Oklahoma City as well as bluegrass guitar under the instruction of bluegrass great Bryan Sutton. Sam Hochenauer, banjo, is a multi instrumentalist and has studied at the University of Central Oklahoma. Jake Simpson, violin, was inducted into the National Fiddle Hall of Fame at the age of 13 and has played alongside Bryon Berline, Vince Gil, and many other bluegrass and country greats. We have played alongside Oklahoma artist such as John Fullbright, Parker Millsap, and the Red Dirt Rangers as well as various national and international touring acts.
