John the Franklin
Artist Information
JOHN THE FRANKLIN (J t F) began their career playing 2 nights every week for 6 months at Joe’s Crab Shack on I-240. From there they have branched out to various casinos in the state as well as restaurants, private parties, and wedding receptions. Playing folk rock music that is timeless, including some country selections, J t F is a perfect selection for events that could be enhanced by music that everyone would know,
yet played at a volume that would not interfere with conversation while allowing those who wanted to just sit and listen a pleasure able listening experience.
John the Franklin is:
Frank Barry- Frank is a long time musician in the OKC metro area. He started J t F back in 2009 because he wanted to expand his musical horizons from the drums (having played with, and currently playing with the classic rock band, FULL CIRCLE) to playing guitar and harmonizing to his favorite folk rock songs. Frank’s day job is as an educator in Norman along with being a private tennis instructor.
Marvin Hudson- Marvin started with Frank in J t F back in the Crab Shack days. He has played bass for many years in a variety of settings. Marvin’s day job is as a minister for a Methodist church in the OKC area. Marvin has an engaging personality and is a steady presence on the bass.
James Massie- James plays lead guitar with J t F. He also is the guitarist for FULL CIRCLE. James joined J t F one year ago as he, too, wanted to expand his playing experiences combining his expertise on the electric guitar in FULL CIRCLE, with his acoustic ability in J t F. Without a doubt, James is one of the top guitarist in the state having an extensive résumé of playing experience. His day job is an employee for the City of Norman. James is always positive and ready to play.
