Artist Information

Tommy Joe Smith started his musical career as a drummer in 6th grade. Throughout the next 6 years of school, he learned how to play guitar. After high school, and a couple years training to be a pro wrestler, he taught himself to play piano. In 2010, he became a founding member and drummer for a central Oklahoma based band called Oklahoma Six-Gun Saints. For two years they traveled around Oklahoma and Kansas playing red-dirt, southern rock, and 90’s country. The band released 2 albums while together.

When the band dissolved, Tommy began hanging around dueling piano bars, learning the ins and outs of the songs and playing styles, and filling in on drums a few times. This enabled him to perform solo, singing and playing piano and guitar. 

He started writing original material in 2017. With a new love for songwriting, he attended a writing workshop with Mike McClure and has since opened shows for the Boohatch Studio owner. In October 2022, Tommy was accepted to a 3-day songwriting event held in Memphis, TN at the world famous Sam Phillips Recording Service, led by Grace Askew.

These days, he has a private studio of his own where he produces his projects and help fellow musicians with their projects. His performances consist of singing cover and originals while playing piano and acoustic guitar.
